Meet Matt Dymoke

A Bit About Me.

Born and raised in Bloomington, I’ve been deeply connected to this community my entire life. From playing BAA Soccer and singing with Angelica Cantati to working summers at the Bloomington Family Aquatic Center, this city has shaped who I am. That passion has only grown as an adult—whether serving on the board of Artistry MN or coaching show choir at Kennedy High School, I love giving back to the community that gave me so much.

I’m a proud 2010 graduate of Kennedy High School, where I immersed myself in the performing arts and student leadership. I went on to earn a degree in Social Studies Education and Communication Studies from Concordia College in Moorhead, where I was actively involved in campus life. In 2019, I completed my Master of Science in Leadership with a focus on Nonprofit Management from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.

My Work Experience.

I currently serve as the Director of Development and Communications at ICA Food Shelf in Minnetonka, working with donors to support hunger relief programs, emergency housing, and more. I lead a team of three dedicated staff as we connect with the community to help our neighbors in need. Before this, I did similar work for PROP Food Shelf in Eden Prairie and spent the last eighteen months raising funds for hunger prevention programs. My career has always centered around making a difference—whether it’s ensuring families have access to food or raising funds for critical global issues.

Previously, I worked at Lutheran World Relief, partnering with donors nationwide to support disaster relief, hunger and water initiatives, and agricultural projects around the world. Before that, I spent five years at my alma mater, Concordia College, in alumni relations and annual giving, helping make education more accessible for all students. I also have a background in education, having served as an 11th and 12th grade social studies teacher in White Bear Lake Area Public Schools, focusing on world history and government.

Beyond my professional work, I stay actively involved in Bloomington’s arts community, serving as an assistant director for Kennedy’s show choir program and as the business manager for the school musical, as well as a board member for Artistry MN. The performing arts played a huge role in my own education, and I’m grateful for the chance to give back in this way.

School Board Experience

In 2021, I was honored to be elected to the Bloomington School Board. At 29, I became the youngest elected member in the board’s history, bringing a fresh perspective to our district’s leadership. During my first term, I’ve served on every board committee and worked closely with numerous district councils, including:

  • Policy Committee (2022-2025, Chair in 2023 & 2024)

  • Community Engagement Committee (2022, 2025, Chair in 2025)

  • Legislative Committee (2023)

  • Finance and Facilities Committee (2023 & 2024, Chair in 2023 and 2024)

  • Board Student Advisory Council (2022)

  • Education Foundation of Bloomington (2022-2025)

  • Community Education Advisory Council (2022-2024)

  • Minnesota State High School League (2022-2025)

I’ve also had the privilege of serving in leadership roles, including:

  • School Board Chair (2025)

  • School Board Vice Chair (2024)

  • School Board Treasurer (2023)

Serving on the Bloomington School Board has been the opportunity of a lifetime. Over the past four years, we’ve accomplished so much together—check out the Board Priorities and Accomplishments page to learn more.
